Growing a family child care program takes an investment in your own skills, too. The Oregon Family Child Care (OFCC) Scholarship helps eligible licensed home providers pay for professional development, from approved training to the initial Child Development Associate (CDA) credential application fee.
You may be eligible if you are the provider named on an Oregon Registered Family or Certified Family Child Care license. This scholarship is intended for the named license holder.
Eligible expenses include:
Awards are offered on a first-come, first-served basis while funds are available. Check the program’s current requirements before committing to an expense.
Review the official scholarship details at Portland State University, then use the Oregon Family Child Care Scholarship online application. The official page also provides paper applications in several languages.
If a Family Child Care CDA is your next goal, explore ChildCareEd’s 120-hour Family Child Care CDA course with portfolio review. The scholarship lists the initial CDA application fee as an eligible expense. It does not automatically cover a ChildCareEd course; ask the Oregon Center for Career Development whether a specific training qualifies before requesting scholarship funding for it.
