Have a community-driven idea that could help Tulsa children and families thrive? The George Kaiser Family Foundation (GKFF) Accelerator Grant helps underfunded nonprofits led by people closely connected to the communities they serve.
An early childhood or family-serving organization may be a fit if its work addresses a clear need in Tulsa and aligns with GKFF’s mission of expanding opportunity for Tulsans.
The Accelerator Grant is a one-time award, typically ranging from $5,000 to $35,000. GKFF does not set a formal cap on requests. It considers each organization’s needs and the plan it presents.
GKFF says there are currently no fixed restrictions on how Accelerator Grant funds may be used. An organization could propose the supports that would make the greatest difference to its project, such as program activities, family engagement, materials, or staff development. Explain the purpose of each expense in your request; GKFF determines what it will fund.
According to GKFF’s current criteria, an applicant must:
GKFF evaluates how clearly a request supports under-resourced Tulsa communities and whether the organization presents an actionable plan. This is funding for an eligible organization or project, not an individual training scholarship.
Complete the GKFF Accelerator Grant interest form. GKFF will contact interested organizations about next steps. Interest forms are accepted on a rolling basis; check the Accelerator Grant FAQs for current review information and requirements.
The interest form is the route for this grant. GKFF’s general policy against unsolicited proposals should not be confused with its invitation for eligible organizations to express interest in the Accelerator Grant.
If your Tulsa organization plans to expand early childhood services, your staff may need training to carry out that work. ChildCareEd’s staff training options let program leaders purchase training for a team, assign courses, and track progress. For a project centered on working with families, explore Community and Family Engagement in Childcare.
Staff development can be considered as part of your proposed project budget. Describe how the training supports your goals and confirm the expense with GKFF as your request is reviewed.
